Hello, I'm Avaneesh Kad

I am a Computer Science major at the University of Cincinnati who is passionate about building connections and going beyond just academics. I am from Pune, India, and I have wanted to be an engineer since the very beginning of my school years. I find it really cool to build high-tech devices and unlock new things we can do in the future. Because of this, I got interested in artificial intelligence and decided to get a degree in computer science. I love to deep dive into electronic and software systems, basically anything that only understands 1s and 0s. Outside of school, I love traveling to unique, scenic places that typical tourists don't visit. This is a bonus I get from my huge interest in birdwatching and wildlife photography. I am also a sporty person. I played and practiced Table Tennis for eight years and I also enjoy swimming and running marathons.

I am choosing the University of Cincinnati because of its great CS classes like Artificial Intelligence and Database Design. Since starting here, I am finding many opportunities to improve, learn, and meet new people. I am now participating in the University Honors Program (UHP), which is giving me more chances to help society and support communities through innovation. I am consistently attending student organization meetings, which is helping me boost my confidence by talking to people from all over. These groups are allowing me to take part in challenges and hackathons where I am unlocking new skills and getting better at my work. I am showing up to almost every CS event on campus because I am looking forward to learning more and reaching my milestones.
